Linda Stowe announced the grand opening of DragonFly, a boutique with "Clothing to lift your spirits", DragonFly is located in the heart of Brentwood, just behind the Walgreens at 117B Franklin Road. The boutique features designers including Joseph A., bleu haven, hanky panky, cousin johnny, GO Silk, Charlotte Tarantola, and PleinAir, as well as her own clothing line, Swinging Dorothy Designs. Jewelry by Janette A. Mascarinas and Tusk handbags will also fill the store. At DragonFly you will also find everything from handbags made from a pair of jeans or a sweater to the perfect black dress.
Linda has always had an eye for fashion and in April of 2001, she turned that passion into her own extraordinary clothing line, Swinging Dorothy Designs. Lindas designs have been sold in Nashville area stores, such as Posh in Hillsboro Village, and Serendipity on 12th Avenue. The Swinging Dorothy clothing line turns everything from brides maid dresses to rugs into wonderfully fun outfits. Skirts, customized jeans, halter-tops and accessories are Swinging Dorothy specialties.
In the 80s, Linda owned a vintage store in Murfreesburo, TN. A little ahead of her time, she moved on to Barber School and then opened her own salon in the same town, Headwaves. It was at Headwaves that Linda produced a television advertisement, which aired on MTV and ESPN. The networks were so impressed that they aired the ad for six weeks - free. While at Headwaves, Linda also produced a fashion show utilizing her college clientele.
As the owner of Headwaves, Linda also began working as a wardrobe stylist on videos for various country artists, including Patty Loveless, Ronnie Milsap, Mark Collie, The Gatlins and The Kentucky Headhunters. She also worked with DC Talk and on commercials for companies such as Toyota and Colonial Sugar.
After years in wardrobe, Linda began making and wearing her designs, only to be incessantly stopped on the street and asked, "Where did you get that?" A few fashion shows later, this was this question that prompted Linda to start her new line of clothing and open Dragonfly, the only boutique in Brentwood, Tennessee.
